A WELLINGTON Point woman who suffered horrific injuries in a car crash two years ago is calling for better education and monitoring of drivers with potentially dangerous medical conditions. BRISBANE, Sept 2 AAP - The survivor of an horrific car crash has called for better monitoring of drivers with medical conditions. Sharon Whitchurch almost died in the 2006 head-on collision at Burbank in Brisbane's south while the other driver, a diabetic man, was unhurt. The 42-year-old mother of three suffered multiple fractures, internal injuries and severe blood loss, spending several weeks in a coma in the Princess Alexandra Hospital, with doctors giving her little chance of survival.   ...read more

Two years ago, Brisbane woman Sharon Whitchurch was left in a coma after a head-on crash at Burbank. Her injuries - including multiple fractures and internal damage - were so bad, medical staff were only able to identify her by her hands.
