Hypo-drive is a non-profit national educational awareness program aimed at educating diabetic drivers and their loved ones about the dangers of driving while suffering from a hypoglycaemic or hyperglycaemic episode.

Led by Sharon Whitchurch, a Brisbane mother of three whose life was devastated by a 2006 head-on collision caused by a diabetic driver who had ignored his warning signs before getting behind the wheel, the Hypo-drive program is also useful for anyone suffering from any medical condition that may impair driving ability, along with their family and friends.

Hypo-drive’s outreach efforts include presentations to community, business and government organizations, free drivers education seminars and lessons for diabetic drivers, distribution of free hypo packs to diabetic drivers who attend a driver awareness workshop and public awareness initiatives.
